Get Ready! The Light Is Coming Get ready! The focus of this Advent unit is “The Light Is Coming." Children learn that Advent is a time of preparing for the Light of the World – Jesus.
Concept:
Jesus is the
way to know the light of God’s Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. Activity: Making Nutmeg Noel Cookies. Advent Wreath Focus: LOVE Candle Lesson Summary:
As children light the purple LOVE candle on the Advent wreath, they are reminded of God’ great love. Children explore the word NOEL and discover two meanings of the word – “Now all is well” and “Shout for joy” because Jesus is born. They make Nutmeg Noel Cookies to share with each other and give away a Noel Cookie Bag to a people that need the joy of Jesus’ birth in their lives.

way to know the light of God’s Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. Activity: Journey to the Prince of Peace Advent Wreath Focus:
PEACE Candle Lesson Summary:
Children light the Peace Candle on the Advent wreath and learn that Jesus is the Prince of Peace. They hear the story of the wise men seeking to find the Prince of Peace by following a star. At different stations on the journey they experience some of the story.

JOY candle Lesson Summary:
Each tribe will learn their own song for the Christmas program! This will be a great foundational workshop to learn about the JOY of sharing Christ’s love and telling the story!

A new season of Rotation Sunday School (4th grade and under) is almost
here!
Rotation is a great format for helping children to learn and love the
stories of our faith. Each
story is taught for 4 weeks, each week approaches the story from a
different angle.
We need your help to make Rotation a great experience for children and
adults alike. Check out this job description
and see if it appeals to you.
Activity Leader:
Lead workshops about the stories.
These roles last 4 weeks, and the same lesson is taught for all 4
weeks to a different group of children each week.
