Summer Camp Information!

Did you miss a week and want the take home sheet? Print them here!

Rotation, 9:45 to 10:45 on Sunday mornings, is for children from 4 years-ols (Pre-K) to 4th graders.

How Rotation Works
Rotation is story based learning.  Children spend 3 to 4 weeks digging into a single Bible story.  Each story is explored through several different activities like games, crafts, movies, and cooking.  Varied activities give different kinds of learners a better chance at understanding the material.  Every fourth week of Rotation is Tribe Day.  This is a day when Tribes stay in one place and learn with each other through group devotions and conversations.

Tribes

Rotation students are put into tribes which are named after the Tribes of Israel.  Each tribe has about 6 children and there are 7 rotation tribes.

Pre-Kindergarten
Children who are one year away from Kindergarten are all in the same tribe.  They follow the same stories and schedule as the older rotation students, but are in a self-contained class, not mixed in the large group.  This allows them to have age appropriate activities and lessons to better engage the children in active learning.

Kindergarten to 2nd Grade & 3rd to 4th Grade
Children in these grades from the large Rotation group.  There are 3 tribes that are Kindergarten to 2nd grade, and 3 tribes that are 3rd to 4th grade.  Each tribe gathers for conversation and devotions alone, but travels with another tribe for workshops.  Typically an older and a younger tribe will travel together to foster mixed-age learning and friendships.

A Day at Rotation
A typical day of Rotation looks like this:
9:45-10:10 am - Opening time, all 7 tribes meet together to hear the story and sing
10:00-10:40 am - Workshop time, tribes travel workshop (1 a week) to explore the story
10:40-10:45 am - Wrap-up and prayer in Tribes.
